Plug-in I/O cards for modular systems
The main advantage of modular input/output systems is their flexibility, thanks to which the basic bus units can not only be expanded or modified using plug-in modules, but the same modules can also be used in different types of basic units. In this way, a wide range of I/O assemblies can be achieved at low cost, tailored precisely to the requirements of a specific application and saving money in the future when the communication interface or the type and number of I/O channels need to be changed. Our product range includes a complete range of plug-in I/O cards for all modular distributed I/O or control systems.
Compact I/O modules
Compact input/output modules integrate analog and digital input and output circuits together with power and communication circuits. They are advantageous if the system does not have large requirements for the number of inputs and outputs, they correspond to a specific module from the range and no future changes or expansion of the system are foreseen. The external converters are connected via standard computer communication interfaces such as serial ports, Ethernet, USB, Wi-FI or ZigBee wireless interfaces, mobile phone networks or industrial buses CAN, PROFIBUS, etc.
Terminal Blocks
For space reasons, PC plug-in cards or external modules cannot always be equipped with connectors or terminal blocks that are robust enough for frequent connection of signal lines or to allow connection of individual signals without special tools. A suitable solution is external terminal blocks that are connected to the cards or modules with a jumper cable. These terminal blocks have sufficient space to accommodate robust terminals for individual signals. If a terminal block is damaged, there is no need to replace a much more expensive module or card. Terminal blocks for measurement and control systems and plug-in cards for PCs are available in various mechanical designs, for example for DIN rail or panel mounting.
Modular I/O systems
The advantage of modular I/O systems is lower cost and easier maintenance when requiring a larger number of inputs and outputs, as they share a power and communication base that is further expanded with input and output modules. Another advantage is the flexibility to expand or change input and output requirements as they can be changed by simply replacing or adding more modules. On the other hand, modules already purchased can usually be used in different types of bases according to the actual need. Similar to compact I/O modules, modular system bases can also have different types of communication interfaces such as serial ports, Ethernet, USB, Wi-FI or ZigBee wireless interfaces, mobile phone networks or industrial buses CAN, PROFIBUS, etc.
